Do memories get corrupted with continual reuse?
I think that if you remember something over and over without topping that memory up the memory degrades. It's as though your mind keeps filling in the gaps and inaccuracies get stored, the incorrect neural pathways get reinforced and you start to remember your incorrect remembering rather than the truth.
There are people from my past who I was good friends with, who I think of often but whose faces I can't even recall, whereas If I think of someone from the same time who I only met once or twice I can see them clearly.
